I felt like a CIA spy
I decided to try this Mechanical Turk that I heard about on NPR. I had heard that you couldn’t earn a lot of money. However, my curiosity got the best of me. The stories were true. It is difficult to earn any real money on the site. But what I did find was far more interesting. Mechanical Turk is fun! I found myself on the site earning 10 cents for transcription, filling out forms, and drawing boxes on photos. Its a great time waster and I have earned $7.25 for playing on the internet. The most interesting thing I did was transcribe an audio recording between a Russian father and disappointed son. I felt like a CIA spy! Although I do not earn a lot of money, I have fun and feel I am contributing in some small way to the economy.
