I’m a poor college student so I’ve searched the web to find the easiest ways to make money without having to actually go to a job. I’ve had other online jobs before but I have to say Mechanical Turk has kept my attention for the longest. I often found online jobs left me feeling bored and I didn’t have the self discipline to put in serious hours. I wasn’t getting paid enough through my last online job so someone suggested MTurk to me. I don’t devote a lot of time to the site but I sign on often to check the highest paying HITs. I was a little confused with how MTurk worked at first and I made some mistakes which caused my overall percentage score to lower. I regret those mistakes now because I’m missing out on many good HITs. I like to answer questions for research surveys the most and I like to find the most obscure Turk HITs. It’s always interesting to read through the HITs. I’m amazed how some people have used MTurk for creative projects or for research purposes. A recent HIT I completed asked me to ask my 4 year old son why farts smelled. That was probably the most amusing 10 cents I’ve made so far. I’ve suggested MTurk to a few of my friends and have gotten a few to try it out. I sometimes get frustrated when it takes too long for a requester to pay me. I get excited when I see my account balance increasing bit by bit and I’ve slowly made a little amount of money through MTurk. I think I could make more money if I wasn’t so picky about what HITs I accepted.
