God has guided me the whole way
I was an awkward kid, a little less confident than one should be, but as I grew up, I became the person I knew I should be. It took me awhile to come into my own, but I finally figured out what God wanted me to do with my life. When I was younger, I had grandiose visions of owning the largest computer company in the world, and I guess I felt the world owed me something. I planned on doing this by simply just being meant for that specific dream. However, as I got older, I stuck to my roots, continued to play the piano, continued writing, and went back to school to pursue my degree in English. I eventually started working for an elementary school before I finished my degree, in which I ran the After School Program. On top of my passions, I knew my calling was to become a teacher. I had a natural ability to teach kids, and they loved me. I was also a part of the summer camp for two years, in which I continued to gain experience in working with children. In a small community, it doesn’t take long to become well-known in your pursuits. As of now, I am about to graduate with a degree in English with a minor in history, teaching certification in both fields included. I know I chose the path I was supposed to take, and I am anxiously awaiting my career as a teacher. I still like to dabble in the stock market, and I still like to play the piano and work on my writing. I still like the idea of a business pursuit, and other dreams as well still abound. However, I know my true passion is teaching, and Jesus wants me to give my all to the kids and become the best teacher I can be. I will never forget the building blocks to where I stand now, and I will never forget the learning processes that I have endured. One day I will step into the classroom, and I will think about what all it took to get me here. Last semester I made the Dean’s List, taking 18 hours and making 5 A’s and 1 B. Knowing myself, and knowing the power of God, I can shout to the rooftops that I could never have done any single part of this by myself. God has guided me the whole way, and I thank him for everything he has given me. It is truly him that has gotten me to where I am today, and I am forever indebted to him.
