About This Blog

I’ve been working on Mturk for a little over a year and I’ve made over $2000.

I’ve been working on Mturk for a little over a year and I’ve made over $2000. It’s been an enormous help when I don’t have the extra cash. I had a car that was breaking down every other week, and bills were piling up. I don’t know what I ever would have done without Mturk. When I first started, I was only making a few dollars a month. But it didn’t take long to figure out which hits you could do to maximize your earnings. Although the transcriptions pay pretty low, they are some of my favorite hits to do. I’ve learned so much transcribing podcasts that people would normally have to pay to listen to. I’ve even been able to transcribe some interviews with directors and cast of films that I am a huge fan of. It’s pretty easy to tell when looking at mturk whether your time spent is going to be worth it or not. Some people expect you to do ten minutes worth of work for a penny. I avoid these like the plague, unless they are super super fun. I especially love hits that are part of larger projects, like art projects. The other things that are easiest to do are hits that are only a couple pennies but mindless work. You can just sit and click while watching TV, and by the end of the night you’ve made a couple of bucks. I love mturk, and I don’t know what I would have done without it. It’s saved my butt a ton of times.
